The pan dulce are very good. Make sure they are not a day old. They can get crusty. In this dry climate they do nothing to keep them fresh. So only get today's pan The burritos at hays are terrible. Those on Doniphan are very good

This is a small mom and pop shop in El Paso, super close to the border. The neighborhood is very quiet and seems like this is a staple within the community. They have a variety of pasties and sweets you can choose from. We had a tres leche cake and a pineapple upside cake ( not pictured). Both were a bit in the dryer side but still tastey, especially the tres leche cake.

When I got in El Paso, there has always been a debate on which bakery is better: Gussie's or Bowie. Both are very popular bakeries within the different sides of El Paso and it was something that I was very eager to visit. The first bakery that I visited was Gussie. It was a much nicer place and vibes, but when it comes to Bowie, this place stood out. The pastries here are much better, more options, and the price is better as well. My favorite is their cannoli and I would say that it is on par with the famous canoli place in Boston. Parking is a bit hard to find as you have to use street parking and it is usually full, but it is manageable.

Iconic and famous Latino Bakery in historic Segundo Barrio is a treat! Great pan dulce and plenty of street parking, offers visitors, and neighbors, a chance to eat this delicacy.
